I am much more relaxed about it now. With the first it was agonizing to nurse in church, then with the twins it seemed like I was always nursing no matter where I was, so I just got used to it. Now I don't really care what anyone else might think if they see me nursing, and my baby is a loud nurser. I do try to be extra careful about "coverage" at Mass, esp. if there are any males around!

Janet

Kate, when I nurse in the church, in the Presence ...

Kate, when I nurse in the church, in the Presence of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, I always feel like this vocation of motherhood is, well, more special somehow. It makes it all worth it to me, to be able to gaze up at Him - during Mass or during Adoration (we have some all day Adoration in our parish and I've had to cover at the last minute) - and imagine how short Mary's time holding Him was. This is a beautiful reflection and a wonderful article by Christopher West (one of my favy-fave authors!). :)

I nursed my son in church once and he hadn't latch...

I nursed my son in church once and he hadn't latched on properly, which led to a LOUD sucking sound being broadcast through the church!
