Thanks for that blog! You're one of those moms that is easliy envied too and I really appreicate your honesty. Some other blogs out always seem to sugar coat and place positive spins on everything which may not be how it always is in reality. I love that you lay on the table how it is and then turn into a growth opportunity. It makes you truely relatable and that is why I enjoy reading your blog. Kate, it turns out I am ISFJ - the Protector. I "need to be needed." This is actually pretty accurate, though another quality is supposedly a tireless work ethic, and I am actually quite lazy. :-) But I do like to take care of people and mostly do it without complaint (mostly not always). A year or more ago I would have hoped that this would mean that I would be an excellent homeschooling mom, but alas, though I fiercely admire such women, I have determined I am not one of them. I am the best mom to my 4 children (#5 on the way) when I get a break from them! LOL! This personality description made me feel better as it says that I am more into taking care of people's physical and emotional needs. I would be a good nurse, but not necessarily a good teacher. I am happy to report that Mother Teresa and St. Theresa of Avila (my fave!) are also ISFJ! Thanks for turning us on to this little quiz!

Oh, I've got to go take this test. Though I am completely inspired by your realization, I still want to go see if it will validate my take on myself! ha ha!

I relate completely to what you have said here. I have spent 38 years of my life trying to be more like the people I admire (and not celebrities either). When I was younger I would change my entire personality each time I made a new friend - my clothing style, type of music I listened to, lifestyle...and so on. It is only recently that I am starting to realize who I am. I'm a little bit of all those people I admire, but a little bit of something God gave me special for me too. Or at least I think so. Off to take the test to prove it! LOL!

Once again, you have written, very well, what is on my mind so often. The whole living up to the examples of women we admire thing can be a real killer. I am constantly struggling with that. Tonight was a perfect example.

I'm going to take the test again since I can't remember what I got before.

I can't wait to take the test myself. Would you be surprised to hear that I hope it reveals I'm just like you? Do you know how many people look up to you?
Of course we forget that, don't we?

This post is so insightful. Once again I feel we're kindred spirits (but I am a bit jealous 'cause you're younger, prettier, have more writing credits and just came back from a fun vacation!)
